Low Voltage Technician

Low Voltage Solutions, Inc. is seeking qualified technicians with 2-4 years’ experience in structured cabling, security, audio-visual and fire alarm systems to join their field team to perform on some of the Chicagoland area’s top construction projects. LVS is a proud union contractor closely affiliated with the IBEW unions and National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and has proudly remained home to many union electricians over the last 25 years. LVS has built a reputation of providing superior workmanship /service to our current and future customers. The LVS team is seeking both union electricians and non-union technicians interested in beginning a career with the IBEW to fulfill the ever expanding need for technology in buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Installing, servicing, and integrating a variety of low voltage systems including Structured Cabling, Intrusion Alarms, Video Surveillance, Card Access, Audio-Visual, and more.

  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain various cabling infrastructure environments in commercial and new construction environments

  • Install, terminate and test category cabling and fiber

  • Install, commission and program various security systems and technologies including CCTV, access control

  • Install, commission and program comprehensive audio-visual systems and technologies including video conferencing, displays, speakers, etc.

  • Install and commission fire alarm systems from core and shell infrastructure to devices

  • Read/follow blueprints of project infrastructure on-site

  • Work with Project Foreman and Project Manager on job progress to ensure proper scheduling and completion

  • Work throughout the Chicagoland area

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of low voltage experience

  • High School Education is Required

  • Knowledge of overall low voltage systems; voice/data, security, fire alarm, and audio-visual systems

  • Ability to travel within 60 mile radius of Chicagoland area

  • Ability to operate a scissor lift/work at heights

  • Basic knowledge of telecommunications and various certifications within the industry

  • Communication & Organizational skills
